Week 6
This week was all about personality tests, so we took 5 separate tests and here is my opinion about each of them. All in all the tests had similar results which makes me think they are fairly accurate but I'll go further in depth in the descriptions. If you don't believe in personality tests this link should help confirm your beliefs.
Jung Typology Test
The Jung Typology Test focused on 4 core sections of people's personality. I scored ENTJ which means that I am Extroverted Intuitive Thoughtful and Judgmental. The Jung test then gives you a career clusterish that would be the most beneficial for you personality skill set. I would be best off being a coach/general/CEO of some sort.
IQ Test
The IQ test assesses a broad overview of your problem skills, vocabulary, and other knowledge. The first modern intelligence test in IQ history was developed in 1904, and it hasn't changed very much since that original test. this is why alot of psychologist aren't a fan of the test because while the world has evolved and progressed it has not. I scored a 122 which means i have a slightly above average g, general intelligence. This doesn't make me smarter or dumber than others because this is very broad and usually people have very different strengths.
Sims Test
The Sims is a series of life simulation video games developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. I haven't played much of the game, but the gist of it is you live a life. The reason the game is so appealing is because there isn't any risk, so you can live your life how you really want it. This test scored me as neat, out going, active, and nice.
Relationship Test
The relationship test is a little bit different then the other tests I had taken so far. While it has a similar format, it focused more on a certain aspect of your personality instead of the broad overview. It focused on your relationship anxiety and relationship avoidance; I got low scores in both areas. This translates to a high relationship satisfaction and effectiveness in an intimate setting
Big 5 Test
We already took a big 5 test in class, but my results were different from my music, so i decided to take a thorough in depth version. It covers the 5 main areas of personality. I scored high in Extroversion, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness which means I tend to be outgoing and cooperative. I scored average in open mindedness, but that's because I show no "aesthetic sensitivity". Finally, I scored low on the Negative Emotional portion.
Now the main reason I was extremely interested in the blog this week is I don't believe that these kind of tests accomplish anything. However, my opinion on that matter has now changed. All of my test results were extremely similar because of this I think they have to have some merit. According to all these tests, I'm outgoing extroverted and have others intentions in mind which i personally think is fairly accurate.
